The term "Self Care" has definitely been making the rounds in recent years, and there is no end to how it's being defined.
For some, it's taking much needed time to spend on hobbies 💃🏼🚴♂️🎨 that have been lost in the rat race of life. For others, it's a decadent bath 🛀 , or better nutrition 🍃 . Maybe it's reconnecting with books waiting to be read 📖, or spending more time outdoors🌲🌳
Or, it could be simply sitting still - to breathe deeply. 👃
The possibilities are truly unique to everyone.
Depending on our needs throughout the day, or week, self care can come in many forms. But one critical thread that weaves the definition of SELF CARE across the board, is the practice of setting BOUNDARIES.
Yep! Setting boundaries takes practice. It may be difficult at first, but it does become easier. ✅
The shift also comes when you start to VALUE yourself. 🤗
That's right. YOU!
Because when you value yourself, you'll start to value your time and choices.
And when you value your time and choices, you'll start to prioritize.
And when you start to prioritize, guess what?
Enter SELF CARE!! 🙌🤘
It took me many years to value the true definition of self care for fear of being viewed as lazy, or indulgent.
But you know what? It’s not selfish. It’s selfCARE. It's necessary! And it's HEALING!!!
