Time to ditch the MSG. For REAL!

Let's talk MSG!!

 

You've probably already heard of MSG (Monosodium Glutamate), and have been cautioned to avoid it. But do you know why? And what is MSG anyway? 🤔

MSG is used as a flavour enhancer. And although most people associate MSG with Chinese Food, it's actually in 1000s of processed foods that many people eat everyday! 😱 It's not an added spice you can taste. It actually has very little taste, but tricks your brain into thinking food tastes better than it does. #tricky

 

Chemically, MSG is an EXCITOTOXIN, which means it overexcites your cells to the point of damage or death. 💀 So there's no surprise that regular consumption of MSG will start to manifest in ill health.🤕

Just "some" of the common symptoms from consuming MSG include:
👉Headaches
👉Fatigue and disorientation
👉Depression
👉Nausea
👉Rapid heartbeat
👉Drowsiness
👉Weakness

The FDA requires labeling of "Monosodium Glutamate", or Glutamic Acid, but that doesn't guarantee it it isn't present. #nope There are several names that also "cloak" MSG on labels, so you can't really be sure.

THE BEST WAY to minimize and ELIMINATE MSG exposure is to NOT eat processed foods! Of course, consuming fresh foods and familiar ingredients will always be better for you. But hopefully, this gives you just one more reason why! ✅

Just eliminating one processed food to begin will already make a difference. #juststart
